Suddenly, before I could reply, a long tentacly arm shot out and just missed the professor. My eyes widened and my muscles tensed as it hit one of the lab rats, and the tentacle began bulging as it tried to digest. It slunk back in the Vortex machine, but the rat was no more. The cage was destroyed and an acid like goo was left behind in its place. He wasn't kidding, he DID need help before this became a world disaster. Then I glanced over at the professor, and it worried me that he obviously had not seen that happen before. Thats when panic broke in. My heart began to pound, my head felt as if it was going to split, and sweat started pouring down my face. Then, I collapsed.
I awoke later and had no idea what time it was, but something was wrong. Red lights were flashing and everything was destroyed in the lab. I wasnt where i had passed out though, I was under the cot which the professor must have layed me on. Wait a minute, where WAS the professor!? I looked everywhere, and then, I saw him. His body was mangled and bloody and he was hanging from a sharp pole in the ceiling. The whaever it was had came through, and maybe brought other things. It was clear that it was no longer here though, for there was a acid spot where the door used to be, and I knew what I had to do next. I stepped outside, and looked around. I think I fainted again.
