I couldn't help but stand there, smiling like an idiot for the next few moments. I couldn't believe that I had actually got a proper date with a really good looking girl! But then the nerves started to kick in. I didn't know what I was going to talk about, I didn't know whether or not there would be uncomfortable silences, and I didn't know how to fill those silences up without making it seem force.
I really needed help, and I was panicking, so I did the best thing I could do. I looked back at my phone, and rang a number.
"Hello?" came Dale's grumbled greeting. I had obviously woke him. I didn't care much, though.
"Hey, I'm panicking. What do I do for the date? I just know I'm gonna mess it up! Please help me!" I pleaded. I heard him inhale deeply then sigh.
"Okay, you don't need to worry about one thing. You seemed confident enough when you first met her, also, you have loads to talk about? You're from England for God's sake!" he said. I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever. Just give me some tips. What if there's an uncomfortable silence?" I replied, forgetting about the jab at my English-ness.
"There won't be. If there is, ask her about her childhood or something. Or excuse yourself and ring me." He said. I nodded. I'd be able to do this.
"Thanks, see you soon."
"Bye" I hung up the phone and grabbed my wallet before leaving to get into my car.
