Britt shook his head is disgust as he climbed into the holovid goggles that lay in front of him on his desk. He hadn't even been on the hologrid more than a minute before an emboldened headline from the New York Post online slid in front of his eyes: 'NEW YORK TO REDUCE GAS EMISSIONS BY 2176' before crumbling into animated pieces that each evaporated into a foggy gas.

Britt wondered how long it would take for the police departments own hologrid to rid its self of spam, or if it could. As the grid came online it engulfed his office and his desk seemingly disappeared, replaced instead by a wet city street down in Soho.

"Your lucky you're working the grid tonight Britt." Came officer Michaels reaching out to shake an imaginary hand that was little more than manipulated photons.

"Whys that officer?"

"You'll see once you get inside."

Back in his office Britt paced the empty space in the center of the room. He'd been trained that he didn't have to do that. The hologrid would move around him but he couldn't help it. Probably all those years driving a squad car.

The hologrid changed its focus from the street to inside Charlies music shop as if the computer system new that Britt would go in there next. Britt moved in his office to get inside the holographic door before the projection completely changed and it was gone for good.
