...the projection completely changed and it was gone for good. Inside he saw...

... the murder scene. It was one of the more tasteful ones he'd ever seen. Either that, or someone turned on the Censor Routine.

"Britt," called officer Michaels, "over here."

Michaels was across the room, finishing a conversation with one of the patrons. He shook his head and rolled his eyes.

"What's the scoop?" Britt asked in his old-fashioned way.

"These Duplicates. They're completely worthless," Michaels said, aggravated, "this one, here, didn't see a thing. Hell, I'm not even sure if they were *here* when the murder occurred."

Britt looked around the room. There were a dozen or so individuals here, some were crying, some were holding plastic bags from a purchase, and others were whispering amongst themselves.

The murder scene itself was fairly run-of-the-mill. The perp left the body in a pile on the floor. The vic was a woman with short, black hair in a bob-style cut. She looked about 25-30 years old and was clearly a flapper, short sequined dress and all. Her neck seemed to be slit, and she was showcasing a pretty gnarly stab wound around her left kidney, as well. Strangely enough, there was no blood pouring out of the wound.

"Strange," Britt said quietly.

"What's that?" asked Michaels.

"There's no blood," Britt said, hunching down onto his ankles.

"No blood?" Michaels asked, "Are you kidding me? Half the floor is covered in her blood."

Britt let out a sigh and pressed a few controls on his holographic arm. Suddenly, a "bloop" sound echoed through the fake room and a ray of light passed through it. Almost like a curtain fall, where there was once dry hardwood floor was now wood covered in blood.

"Sorry, I forgot to deactivate the Censor Routine," Britt said, looking to Michaels.

"You know what," asked Michaels, "I'm tired of this."

Michaels pressed a few buttons on his arm band. Another "bloop" rushed through the room, and soon 2/3 of the patrons disappeared into nothingness.

"What did you do?" asked Britt, standing upright.

"I removed everyone who did not have any information to provide to speed things up," Michaels replied, looking down at his clipboard.

I love writing. I'm working on a few novels at the moment (which I hope will be published someday) and find it easy to jump right into writing a new chapter in any given story. I look forward to collaborating with anyone and everyone on this site!
