Dusk could feel it pulling at her very soul. Like a great river rushing to meet with a mighty ocean, she could not resist that which called out to her and demanded her obedience. Nor did she want to. She only hoped she could hold out until daylight, and then she'd be safe.
Off in the distance she heard the loose pea gravel that covered this building’s roof grind together as one of them moved. They were surrounding her. Before long they would have her trapped, and then it would be too late. She wouldn't be able to make it back at all, like Hawx and some the others, if she didn't do something very soon.
Closing her eyes, Dusk concentrated; letting the darkness of the fading night fill her, even envelop her. She fed off its raw power. She could feel her skin thicken and chill a bit like a cool oil slick as a result while her insides remained fire hot at a temperature that nearly made her eyes glow. The entire process didn't take long, and it wouldn't last long either.
Knowing that daylight was just over the horizon, and once it filled the sky she'd disappear along with this realms darkness like a wraith into the Bloodnite, she sliced her way to her feet.
Hunched over, she backed away from her cover and dove off the roof without a seconds thought waking a black wave of bloodnite energy behind her...
