"Stay in the light, STAY IN THE LIGHT!" Andrew said to himself in a quivering, raspy, voice. He could no longer count the days that have passed. He could only stare at the walls around him used by others who had counted before him. The walls showed hundreds of small marks that had now become too difficult for Andrew to count anymore.
The light randomly flickered on and off and even grew dim at times. It seemed to make the markings and blood stains on the walls jump out at him. The walls around Andrew appeared to have no doors or windows. The stenches of urine and body odor seem to have disappeared over time and Andrew could no longer smell the rank fumes that once surrounded him. It was the flickering light that bothered him, hoping and praying to God that it would not go out again, but it always went out. From since the very beginning the lights were never in Andrew's favor.
The lights went out yet again. Each time it would put Andrew in a state of panic. The same events would happen. It would start with a faint sound at first that would grow louder. It was a sound much like a brick slowly scraping across a concrete floor. It had been too long to tell if it were real or a part of Andrew's sickened mind from years of being in the cell.
"Oh God!" he screamed while running franticly back and forth in the dark. All the while he was hitting the walls with his bare fist and holding his head with his hands as if an evil had entered his mind.
"PLEASE... SOMEBODY! I'm not CRAZY!!! Let me out! LET ME OUT!" Andrew had already started to forget and was already plunging fast into a mind of madness. It was difficult holding on to what little truth that he could remember when nobody would listen and when there was no longer anyone to tell it to.
"Everything that happened.... It was all real! IT WAS ALL REAL!"
